"Paper Planes" by Kevin Box

Joan Son - This my experience with a medium and an art that I love. That I find magic in the manipulation of paper...that others might get a glimpse of the source through my eyes...this is my wish, my pleasure, and my plan.
As a teenager in the 60’s, Joan’s interest in origami began when she learned to fold the traditional crane. After a long career in graphic and photo design, she debuted her art in the windows of Tiffany & Company in the Spring of 1993. Her work has been carried by several museum shops including the National Gallery of Art and the Smithsonian in Washington D.C.

She was included in an article about artists working in the medium of origami in the New York Times, December 2004. Her art, ranging from small pieces to major, commissioned installations, may be found in private collections throughout the United States. She is a member of Origami USA and attends their conventions in New York City where she studies with origami masters from around the world.

All of her works are carefully crafted one at a time from the very finest Japanese and international papers.
